About Pictures and Documents
Online photographs and documents
I would like first to thank everyone who has sent photographs or documents to post on this site. Putting a face with the names and dates
gives the family history a human dimension. Documents are the basis for proving our relationships to our ancestors. If you have photographs
or documents you would like to share, please send them and I will post them, listing you as the source. I would also be happy to post pictures
of headstones or copies of documents and link them to individual’s pages. I have completed scanning of all the family history photographs that
I own. If there is no photograph linked to a person’s webpage, then, unfortunately, I do not have one. I am also up to date on the scanning
of documents from my files and these are now online as well and linked to individual pages. Of course this is an ongoing process and as I
get new documentation I will scan and add more files.
Higher resolution photographs
Most pictures that I receive are lower resolution, suitable for display online, but not of sufficient resolution for a good photographic
print. For many of the pictures that belong to me, however, or for some of those I have scanned, I have higher resolution files available.
These have been uploaded to Kodak Gallery online. If a picture has a higher resolution print available it will say so in the description
of the photograph and it will give the name of the collection (i.e., Higher resolution print: Falin collection). If you find one of these
and would like to get a copy made, just send me an email and let me know which collection you want to access. I will “share” the collection
with you using Kodak Gallery’s share process. You are welcome to download a copy for your own personal use, or order professional prints
for yourself. These pictures may not be used for commercial purposes. If you would like your higher resolution photographs available to
share, let me know. I can set up a collection for you. I do not receive any compensation for this service; it is just provided as a means
to share old family photographs with family members.
