Welcome!

The GEDCOM was last updated: : 24 May 2010 - 105,893 individuals.

This website contains my complete family files. I started working on my family history in 1985 and have collected information on many allied families along the way. Other researchers have sent me detailed information on their families. Sometimes I received letters from people with interesting family puzzles and added my research on those to the file. And so my family tree became more of a crazy quilt of related families. Each person in this file is connected to someone else in this file, either through marrige or blood, and that person is connected to someone else in the file, and at some point they connect up with one of my ancestors. You can quickly scroll through, and connect to, my ancestors to see if we might be directly related.

There are many families from southwestern West Virginia, especially Boone, Logan, and Lincoln counties. They connect in some way with my father's side of the family. There are also allied families in northeastern Ohio, particularly Lake and Ashtabula counties, descendants of the Brainard/Brainard families, and Finnish immigrants that connect with my mother's side of the family. I have included information on the source material I have for each person. To get started searching just enter a first and/or last name into the boxes to the right and click the search button, or to do a more complicated search, click the "Advanced Search" link to the right. Or just browse the site by clicking on any of the links in the menu bar above.

I have done a good deal of research on the Falin family of southwestern Virginia and their descendants. They are included in the file, so use the search field, or start on the patriarch, Thomas Falin's page.

I have also compiled informaton on the 29th Ohio Volunteer Infantry and its soldiers from the Civil War

I have scanned all the documents and photographs I have acquired and you can find these on the pages for individual people. You can also browse through them by clicking the media links above. I will add new media and if you would like to have your pictures or documents posted, please let me know. You can also send photographs along with a caption, list of people shown in the photograph and your name (or the name of the source, or owner, of the photograph) to photos@falingenealogy.com and I will post them. You can find more information on photographs and documents here:

Undoubtedly some errors have been made along the way. I am happy to make corrections and additions, just let me know. You can click the Email link above or the Suggest tab on individual pages. Information on living people is limited to the initials of their name and surname. All dates, first/middle names, dates, pictures and source material is blocked to protect the privacy of the living.

If you have any questions or comments about the information on this site, please contact me. I look forward to hearing from you. Most of this website is open to the public, however, if you wish to download a gedcom of the ancestors or descendants of people in my file, please register for an account.
